This morning we had the most amazing time reading to Seniors at BAASC. This is my favorite field trip of the year. I love seeing the students interact with Seniors. Each student drew and narrated a picture for their chosen Senior Citizen. They were thrilled to take the student created treasures home with them today. Most importantly, I want to give a big that you to all of the parent drivers…we could not have done it without you!

We had a beautiful day today! This afternoon we conducted our first variables experiment. We created our first standard pendulum system and tested it twice! Our predictions were really close to our results. Please remember that there is no school tomorrow because it is the end of the quarter. This is a professional development and records day for the teachers. While third and fourth graders do not receive a third quarter report card, they will receive a report card at the end of the year with an assessment of the third and fourth quarters combined. I will miss seeing you here tomorrow and hope you have a fun day off!*

Today we received our new choice hour schedule that begins on Monday, April 19th!
*Please encourage your child to bring a water bottle to class so he/she does not have to leave class when thirsty!

We had the most terrific Tuesday! This morning we read and discussed chapter 6 in Sign of the Beaver. In chapter 6 today, Matt wakes to find himself feeling better. The elderly Indian returns to the cabin to bring him food. Matt, feeling instinctive trust for this man, reveals that he is all alone, waiting for his family to return. The man introduces himself as Saknis, and Matt is confirmed in his earlier intuition about having been watched from the forest: Saknis has indeed been observing Matt for some time. We are excited to continue reading and see if they become friends!
In the afternoon we worked on our Michigan Civil War poster assessment with our group. We also checked the links on our wiki for the conferences. Get ready for an awesome Wednesday!
