While it is a sad day in our nation’s history, the students showed how fantastic our community is! Today we had time in our afternoon to write letters to soldiers who are serving our country overseas. The kids took this very seriously and really showed their best work! We will work on final copies tomorrow!!! In addition to writing today, we had our first session of Reader’s Workshop. The kids are doing the best job with it and enjoying the books they have chosen. Finally the kids had Spanish today.

Today was picture day! Everyone took pictures and you can order them online if you did not send in a form. An email was sent to all parents last night explaining how to do this

Our classroom temperature varies on a daily basis, but it is often cold! You may want to have your child keep a sweatshirt or sweater in his/her locker.

Our First Week Rocked!

Happy 9th Birthday Charlie!
This was the best first week of school! We started out with math and Gym. After a quick recess, the kids spent time exploring our classroom library and making it their own. We also had a chance to read a story called “The Important Book.” On Monday, we will create our own class “Important Book.” After lunch the kids went off to Engage before we did some language arts work. We ended our day by filling out our planners! We have the best class and I love coming to BCS to see them each day! Thanks for sharing your sweet children with me each day. I look forward to an exciting second week. Have a nice weekend-

Our First Day!

What an amazing first day we had! This is one awesome class! Our first day was very smooth and all of most kids seemed very comfortable, easygoing, and happy to be here. It is normal for kids to feel new and a little uncertain. This first week we will be getting comfortable with our classroom, our schedule, and our classmates. After a week or two, all the kids really do feel like seasoned pros! Today the buddies at the tables were full of energy and conversation, so the kids are off to a great start becoming learning buddies.

We had a busy day today and did not follow our normal schedule. Tomorrow will be a normal day! We began the morning with a wordsearch of all the kids’ names in our class and Mrs. Frishman’s class. Then, the kids heard about some of our classroom procedures and values. Then we went to a town hall meeting with Mrs. Chinn and Mr. Bishop. We went to Spanish and then had lunch and recess. After lunch, we did a get-to-know- you- activity with our classmates, got some important handouts, went to bus families, and it was already time for choice hour!!

Thank you for sharing your children with me. It is such a pleasure to work with them!
