Character Connections Word of the week: ACCEPTANCE
Acceptance
means respecting the differences among people. Because people are
different in so many ways, it is important to be accepting of others.
·
“The
art of acceptance is the art of making someone who has just done you a small
favor wish that he might have done you a greater one.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.
·
“Happiness
can exist only in acceptance.”
– George Orwell
·
“The
greatest gift that you can give to others is the gift of unconditional love and
acceptance.” –
Brian Tracy

In writer’s workshop, we are gearing up for informational writing.
To prepare, we are selecting a topic that we would like to become experts in so
that we can teach others. Soon, we will begin to research our topic to
learn more. In Reader’s Workshop we
continue to work on our reading skills and applying our knowledge to understand
what we are reading. We are also going
to begin learning about nonfiction text features. We will learn how to use them in our reading
and how to incorporate them into our own nonfiction writing.
Social Studies:
We have started our study of Economics and the kids are loving it!
Science:
Soon we will begin our next exciting science unit on Plants. This is especially exciting as we will
incorporate a lot of the knowledge we have gained from our Tower Garden
project!
***Often we post things on our class SeeSaw accounts as well on
our Google Classroom accounts. Ask your child to show you what he/she has
done so far!
