Constitution Day!

September 17th, 2008
Today is a special day because it is “Constitution Day”!!! In math today third graders used a calculator to explore repeated addition and subtraction and played BEAT THE CALCULATOR! IT was so fun! We spent some time this afternoon learning about our constitution and why it is so important. Ask your child what we did!

You will want to know that today we talked about the upcoming MEAP test in October. In Birmingham, we do not study for the MEAP. However, do spend some time learning how to take the test. Today we started our first day of test-taking skills practice. We will continue to do this for 30 minutes a day for the rest of this week and next week. Please ask your child how it is going!

Today we had a fire drill and your kids did the BEST job! Thanks guys!
