We had a thrilling Thursday! In the morning we worked on our sound scripts with our groups. In the afternoon, we shared our summer projects with our classmates and uploaded sound videos to our wikis. We also started viewing other group videos and started a discussion tab. Today we enjoyed Engineering Tech and Swim!

3rd Grade Reading: 20 minutes each day
4th Grade Reading: 30 minutes each day

Cranbrook Field Trip permission slip due ASAP!

Science: Upload your summer tech project to your wiki portfolios. You will put your tech project on your “science” page and title it “Summer Project”! If your project is not a tech project, you will bring this into the classroom to share. If you have a tech project, you will be sharing from your wiki portfolio page on Thursday.

Language Arts: We are working on our Me You See writing in class!

3rd Grade Math:
Review due tomorrow…we went over the review today as a class and students are bringing it home tonight. (You must bring your review to class in order to take the test.)
Unit test on Friday!

Due Monday: Go online and take The “Telling Time”, “Elapsed Time” and “Counting Money” quizzes on thatquiz.org.
Take the TIMED addition and Subtraction test on thatquiz.org.
*You will want to practice your addition and subtraction facts before taking these tests as they will count in your grade.

Students will bring the review home tonight as a study guide for the test on Friday.
All students must turn in their review on Friday in order to take the test.

Students can use their math journal, home link book and Student Reference Book for additional practice of unit 1 skills!

Login and take the assigned tests. (Use your school password)
Students should be able to complete the following number of facts by the end of the year: 30 addition/subtraction facts in 2 mins and 50 division/multiplication facts in 3 mins

4th Grade Math:
JP 36-37 (JP 37, #5E is a challenge. Please feel free to help!) SL 2.4 Today we took a practice multiplication fact test in class. There were 100 problems that they had to complete in five minutes. Please encourage your child to practice nightly if this did not go so well. Please sign the test so I know you saw it! Geo-Museum projects are due on October 11th! You are welcome to borrow a Geo-Template from me if you need one!

REMEMBER TO GET YOUR PLANNER SIGNED EVERY DAY!
Encourage your child to use the yellow checklist in his/her binder at the end of each day! It is a great tool!

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS:

We would love to share in your child’s birthday celebration. If you would like your child to celebrate their birthday at school, please note the following ideas for celebrations:
Please prepare an individual snack for each child.
Please PRECUT large items providing 27 napkins/plates and other necessary utensils.
There are 27 of us!
We will celebrate all birthdays during the designated snack time!
No peanuts please!
If you would prefer that your child not participate in birthday celebrations, please let me know as soon as possible.
