Today we are beginning our Reading to Waiki Challenge beigns today! We are so excited to cast-off into reading and set our sails for paradise! Ask your child to share all of the details with you tonight. You will find these in a special letter with tickets to Paradise attached. Our reading party is going to be on February 8 from 1:00-1:55…you are welcome to join in and catch the spirit of reading for enjoyment and celebrate with us on this day.
Remember to send in your field trip permission slips ASAP with $4.

Social Studies:
State Glogster project was due January 14. Students will bring the details home for parents. Students worked on it today, Jan. 14, in class for about 40 minutes.
Some students need to turn in the Glogster handout.
Character Project-Due before January 31-Students received a letter detailing this assignment. It is also posted on our wiki under the Character tab.
Spelling:
We got our next spelling list and the work will be due on Friday, January 18th. We will take our test that day as well. Students wrote their spelling words in their planner today as well.
Language Arts:

Raz Kids: Read a book and take a quiz this week by Friday! Of course you can do more if you would like! Students have a label in the planner with the password.

Students should have quick mental recall of the following number of facts by the end of the year: 30 addition/30 subtraction facts in 2 mins and 50 division/50 multiplication facts in 3 mins
4th Grade End of Year fact expectations:
Students should have quick mental recall of the following number of facts by the end of the year: 50 addition/50 subtraction facts in 2 mins and 100 division/multiplication facts in 5 mins
4th Grade Math:
Tonight’s homework is JP 160, 163 (On JP 163, we are only doing #5 which will require some work on JP 162). SL 6.8 SL 6.9 (On SL 6.9, we are only doing #4-7). We are going to have our Unit 6 Fact Tests on Thursday this week and our Unit 6 Test on Friday the 18th. We also have IXL Goals due on February 1st. Ask your child to show you what needs to be turned in for this.
