Tomorrow some of our 4th graders will be at the Battle. I am including a schedule for their day! Go Battlers!

BATTLE AGENDA
8:15 Parent Table Coaches report to assigned tables.
8:30 Teachers bring Battlers to the Media Center. Battle Ambassadors greet
parents and direct them to parent seating area.
8:30 Parent Table Coaches meet with teams to determine scribe, team
presentations, and finish Battle Poster
Judges Meet Battle Ambassadors and review duties and Judges 'Packet
8:50 Battle Officially Begins. Stand for singing of the Battle Song, Introduction
of judges, and Battle Team Parade Around the Media Center
9:20 Let the Battle Begin
10:40 Rest Room / Lunch Break
10:50 Lunch (Students called by Battle Teams)
11:30 AWARD Presentation and Photos
12:30 Battle Ends



Student-Led Conferences will be held on March 21st and 22nd from 1:00pm – 4:00pm and 5:00pm – 8:00pm (your child will have a half-day of school both days).
On Monday, March 5th, your child’s homeroom teacher will post the sign- up sheets for conferences. Please plan on signing up by Monday, March 12th as this will help your child plan for his/her conference. The sign-up sheet will be posted outside of our classroom.

Battle of the Books Day is Friday, March 2! We have 10 fourth grade participants. I am so proud of them!

3rd Grade Math:

IXL for 10 minutes skill builders for facts ¾
Take online timed tests. You have been practicing for 7 days. Your score will be recorded if it is 70% or greater. Those who need to come in on Monday during success center will have an opportunity if no score is recorded.

3rd Grade End of Year Fact Expectations:
Students should have quick mental recall of the following number of facts by the end of the year: 30 addition/30 subtraction facts in 2 mins and 50 division/50 multiplication facts in 3 mins

4th Grade Math:
Today we continued our work on fractions. In class today we completed JP 201 together. We also created equivalent fractions together on pages 342 and 343. We are going to work on the decimals and percents on those pages together next week. Tonight’s homework is JP 202, SL 7.7 as well as 20 minutes of IXL. On IXL, I want you to focus on skills D1, E1, Q1, Q2, Q5, R1, and R2. If you master those skills in the 20 minutes, you may choose any skills you like. Due to tomorrow’s Battle of the Books, tonight’s homework will be due on Monday.

5. A pop-up for username and password will appear. The student’s username must be entered with the full extension -- username@birmingham.k12.mi.us . The password is the same password the students uses to login at school.

Please make sure your child has a good book with him/her each day! We usually have 15 minutes of silent reading time each day!

Please check your child's Blue Take Home Folder each day to check for mail, homework, and important information.

PLEASE INITIAL YOUR CHILD’S PLANNER EACH NIGHT SO I KNOW YOU ARE AWARE OF THE HOMEWORK AND EXCITING THINGS HAPPENING IN OUR CLASSROOM!

IT IS IMPORTANT FOR YOUR CHILD TO BRING SHARPENED PENCILS TO SCHOOL EACH DAY! PLEASE PROVIDE YOUR CHILD WITH A PERSONAL PENCIL SHARPENER TO KEEP IN HIS/HER BINDER!!!

PLEASE SEND YOUR CHILD WITH A WATER BOTTLE!!! This helps a lot, so he/she does not have to leave
the room when thirsty! Your child is also welcome to keep healthy snacks in our classroom to eat any
time!
