Today was a wonderful Wednesday! I am so proud of our class. They won the first ever BCS Physical Education Sportsmanship Award!!! As the winners, our class picture is posted in the gym alongside the big Sportsmanship Award Banner, and it’s a really cute picture. We also have a traveling trophy in our classroom for the next 5 weeks. Afterwards, the award is given out again to one of the ¾ classes. Please enjoy our news video!

Choice Hour Selection Sheets are due back to the office on Friday, December 12th by 4:00 PM. All choice hour selection sheets require a parent signature and payment if the student will be attending more than the three required days of choice hour.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD HAS PENCILS IN HIS/HER BINDER!!!

Reflection 2008 Contest: Feeling creative? The deadline for all entries is December 9th. Are you good at Art, dance, photography, writing, music or movie making? Then you should seriously consider entering this year’s Reflections competition: This year’s theme is “WOW!” Please pick up an entry form packet from your teacher, or the office.

Reading:
3rd graders: 20 mins
4th graders: 30 mins

Language Arts: P2 is due on January 6th. Please get a parent to sign this tonight and show to Mrs. B tonight! Please make sure you do the following items : 1) It is turned in by January 6 (2) emailed to YOURSELF on your SCHOOL email account (NOT Mrs. Butzin), and (3) posted on Mrs. Butzin’s Moodle forum under Paragraph Practice.

Social Studies:
Map challenge is due 12/12 and is optional! The social scientist activity is optional for extra credit (see processing 1 worksheet) Choose one activity to complete and follow the directions. Please Note: If you choose to do the Geographer activity you may use your paragraph practice (I will wait for your writing until December 4th) But you still need to draw a map of the state.

Math:
3rd – HL and MB 5.3; Study mult. facts 8-9 for 10 minutes
Your mental recall goals (for exiting 3rd grade) are 30 addition and 30 subtraction in 2 mins, 50 multiplication and 50 division 3 mins. Check out this math website page and start playing the timed quizzes. www.thatquiz.org

List #2 “ly” and “able” endings Test date (and signed list) is due December 15th

Go to www.spellingcity.com and play a game. Play a different game each day of the week! Variety is important!

Technology: 4th grader Battle of the Books participants only – post your thoughts, questions and summaries on the Battle of the Books Moodle Forum.

Remember to write the title of the book you are reading in the ‘Keep Track’ section of your planner…did you do it?
