Our class worked so hard today! We had the greatest day learning and sharing. I am so proud of each student in our class and feel like the luckiest teacher in the world. We have the best 3/4 class at BCS in room 204! Thank you boys and girls!

Here’s what we have for you tonight:

Book Orders are due December 9th – This is a great opportunity for holiday treats! A book order form came home and you may order online or send in the order! Mrs. Richter is happy to place book orders for us before the holidays! Thank you Mrs. Richter!

Reflection 2008 Contest: Feeling creative? The deadline for all entries is December 9th. Are you good at Art, dance, photography, writing, music or movie making? Then you should seriously consider entering this year’s Reflections competition: This year’s theme is “WOW!” Please pick up an entry form packet from your teacher, or the office.

Reading:
3rd graders: 20 mins
4th graders: 30 mins

Language Arts: Paragraph Practice was due today! Please make sure the following items are done: 1) It is turned it by Thursday, (2) emailed to YOURSELF on your SCHOOL email account (NOT Mrs. Butzin), and (3) posted on Mrs. Butzin’s Moodle forum under Paragraph Practice.

Social Studies:
Map challenge is due 12/12 and is optional! The social scientist activity is optional for extra credit (see processing 1 worksheet) Choose one activity to complete and follow the directions. Please Note: If you choose to do the Geographer activity you may use your paragraph practice (I will wait for your writing until December 4th) But you still need to draw a map of the state.

Math:
3rd – HL Share 4.11 with parents; Study mult. facts 3-6 for 10 minutes; We took the unit 4 test today
Your mental recall goals (for exiting 3rd grade) are 30 addition and 30 subtraction in 2 mins, 50 multiplication and 50 division 3 mins. Check out this math website page and start playing the timed quizzes. www.thatquiz.org

4th- Study extended multiplication; JP 114, 118, and 119; SL 5.5
You can have a pop quiz at anytime.

Spelling:
List #2 “ly” and “able” endings Test date (and signed list) is due December 15th

Go to www.spellingcity.com and play a game. Play a different game each day of the week! Variety is important!

Technology : 4th grader Battle of the Books participants only – post your thoughts, questions and summaries on the Battle of the Books Moodle Forum.

Reminders:
Remember to write the title of the book you are reading in the ‘Keep Track’ section of your planner…did you do it?

Tuesday and Friday will be GYM. You will need your gym attire!
