Today was a wonderful Wednesday! Your kids worked very hard today and did the best job! IToday you received a field trip permission slip for the Henry Ford Museum. This is due by Tuesday the 19th! It will be a great trip!

Tomorrow and Friday we will be starting our next science unit on Ecosystems! If you were unable to cut bottles for this unit, don’t worry. We had some kids make extras and we are now all set!!! Thank you!

YEARBOOKS ARE ON SALE-Preorder a yearbook to ensure you have a copy
2010 yearbooks are now available! If you are interested in getting a yearbook there are a few ways to order. You can go online www.digitalbcs.com/yearbook/. Click on the orange link to order. Also, order forms are available in the brochure rack in the main hall and can be turned into the main office. Yearbooks cost $40, so order soon!

REDUCING TRASH AT BCS-TRASH FREE FRIDAYS

• Use a lunch box or reusable sack.
• Pack a cloth napkin and reusable utensils.
• Put food in reusable food and drink containers.
• If you must use a disposable plastic bag, wash it out and keep reusing it.
• Purchase your snacks in bulk size and repack into individual reusable containers.
• Pack fresh fruit since it doesn't require any additional packaging.

Disposable lunches can create between 4–8 ounces of garbage every day.
That can add up to as much as 100 pounds per year!
If you buy lunch, please buy only what you believe you can eat and try not to have any waste!!


*Please encourage your child to bring a water bottle to class so he/she does not have to leave class when thirsty!

IT IS IMPORTANT FOR YOUR CHILD TO BRING SHARPENED PENCILS TO SCHOOL EACH DAY! PLEASE PROVIDE YOUR CHILD WITH A PERSONAL PENCIL SHARPENER TO KEEP IN HIS/HER BINDER!!!

Spelling:
Due Jan 15th “words ending in ed”

Choose your spelling words from A, B or C. You need a parent to sign off on the choice you make.
Complete the definition activity on Moodle (up to 2 attempts) and Play 3 games from Spellingcity.com.


3rd Grade Math:
MB 5.11 and study mult. facts 3-4 for 10 min.

Mental recall goals (for exiting 3rd grade) are 30 addition and 30 subtraction in 2 mins, 50 multiplication and 50 division 3 mins. Check out the math website at the top of our Blog. It is great for practicing all facts!

4th Grade Math:
Math Blog: JP 144-146 SL 6.3

Social Studies: We are studying Michigan’s earliest settlers. It is so interesting and the kids and I are really enjoying it!

Science: We are beginning our study of Ecosystems this week!
