We had a fantastic Friday in room 206! This morning we read some awesome chapters in Maniac Magee. Monday will be a bittersweet day because we finish the book and get to watch the movie for comparison. This afternoon we ventured to the science lab to make observations of our aquarium and terrarium. We added snails, isopods, and crickets to them as well. It was very exciting to see them acclimate to their new environment. We put the crickets in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before introducing them to the class. Like all other insects, crtickets are cold-blooded. As the temperature falls, the rate of chemical reactions inside the crickets' bodies slow down. The students thought they were no longer alive, but I assured them they would be lively soon! Have a great weekend!

The new book order catalogs were sent home this week! You can place the order online up until January 27th. These items will be here in time for Valentine’s Day! Thanks Beth for organizing this for our class!
