Happy 9th Birthday Charlie!
This was the best first week of school! We started out with math and Gym. After a quick recess, the kids spent time exploring our classroom library and making it their own. We also had a chance to read a story called “The Important Book.” On Monday, we will create our own class “Important Book.” After lunch the kids went off to Engage before we did some language arts work. We ended our day by filling out our planners! We have the best class and I love coming to BCS to see them each day! Thanks for sharing your sweet children with me each day. Our classroom temperature varies on a daily basis, but it is often cold! You may want to have your child keep a sweatshirt or sweater in his/her locker.
Swim Schedule: We swim from 12:15-1:00pm on Thursdays and 9:25-10:10am on Fridays

Reader/Writers NOTEBOOKS are due MONDAY!
“When Reading Has Mattered” due Friday-This assignment will help your child with a small project we will be doing in class next week.
Poster Due September 17 - All week we have also worked hard on a poster all about ourselves. Everyone is bring it home today and this poster is due on Monday, September 17th. After editing the work with a parent, students should go over the pencil with a marker and color the entire poster. These will be displayed in the hall.
3rd Grade Reading: 20 minutes
4th Grade Reading: 30 minutes
3rd Grade Math:
Go to table mountain and work for 10 minutes
Leave SRB at home
4th Grade Math:
Go onto IXL for 10 minutes B1 and C1

Important Reminders:
• School starts at 8:20. Students should be in their homeroom seat by this time.
• Please bring 3 sharp pencils to class every day.
• Bring a water bottle and two healthy snacks every day.
• Bring a chapter book every day.

• Back to School Night FOR PARENTS is this Thursday, September 13. Volunteer sign up and refreshments begin at 6:00 p.m., Mrs. Frishman and I will begin our presentation at 6:30 sharp in room (206), Mrs. Chinn begins at 7:00 sharp in the Media Center.
