Thank you to the following families for volunteering to drive for our Reading to the Senior Party: Hurley, Wilms, Beired, and Sripada.

We are in need of a few ADDITIONAL drivers for our Read to the Seniors Party on Friday, May 18. If you can drive students, please email Anna Hurley at annathurley@gmail.com. This is a wonderful trip. Drivers will arrive at BCS at 9:40 and return to school by 11:05. Thanks for volunteering!

We are entering the Least-Amount-of-Overdues Contest! In order to win the contest, we need to have all of the books returned to the media center by Friday. The contest is earlier this year due to the media center floor renovations.

BAASC Reading Party Field Trip letter is due on April 30 (Monday). This trip is on Friday, May 18 from 10-11. We will be reading to the Seniors on this day.

Paragraph Practice: This was due April 26 (Directions came home on April 12)

Read 20/30 minutes

3rd Grade Math:
IXL for 15 minutes
We will be taking our district addition/subtraction/multiplication/division timed tests next week.
Reviewing these over the weekend will be very helpful.

Find your name and log in using your school password (this is in on a sticker in your planner)
Or, log into your school email and click on the emails (with a link) that have been sent to you.

3rd Grade End of Year Fact Expectations:
Students should have quick mental recall of the following number of facts by the end of the year: 30 addition/30 subtraction facts in 2 mins and 50 division/50 multiplication facts in 3 mins

4th Grade Math:
JP 281-282 SL 10.5
We also have three online tests due Tuesday. If your child does not score about 60 on one or more, please email me so I can reset the test for him/her to try again! The codes are HPML3734, LTHY1243, and QOLE6131. On Monday we will be taking our end of the year fact tests. Be sure to review your addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts 0-12 over the weekend!!!



To get to a student’s BPS email:

1. Go to the BPS homepage at http://www.birmingham.k12.mi.us/
2. Hover over the “Parents/Students” link on the top menu bar. A drop down menu will appear.
3. In the drop down menu, click on “Student Links.”
4. Click on the “Microsoft Outlook 2007” icon:
5. A pop-up for username and password will appear. The student’s username must be entered with the full extension -- username@birmingham.k12.mi.us . The password is the same password the students uses to login at school.

Please make sure your child has a good book with him/her each day! We usually have 15 minutes of silent reading time each day!

Please check your child's Blue Take Home Folder each day to check for mail, homework, and important information.

PLEASE INITIAL YOUR CHILD’S PLANNER EACH NIGHT SO I KNOW YOU ARE AWARE OF THE HOMEWORK AND EXCITING THINGS HAPPENING IN OUR CLASSROOM!

IT IS IMPORTANT FOR YOUR CHILD TO BRING SHARPENED PENCILS TO SCHOOL EACH DAY! PLEASE PROVIDE YOUR CHILD WITH A PERSONAL PENCIL SHARPENER TO KEEP IN HIS/HER BINDER!!!

PLEASE SEND YOUR CHILD WITH A WATER BOTTLE!!! This helps a lot, so he/she does not have to leave
the room when thirsty! Your child is also welcome to keep healthy snacks in our classroom to eat any
time!
