Today was picture day! It was a fun way to start our day! Everyone looked great and I can’t wait to see the pictures when they get back to us! This morning we read a story called, “Have You Filled A Bucket Today?” Ask your child what it means to fill someone’s bucket or to dip into someone’s bucket! Mrs. Frishman and I will be hanging “buckets” next week for the kids to fill. Ask your child how we are going to do this! It is a fabulous activity that we are going to try all year.
Soon we will be starting our first science unit on Land and Water. In order to do this, our class needs 9 2-liter bottles. The bottles must be clear and they must have a cap. If you can donate one, please send it in with your child! We also need 9 shoe boxes for this unit. If you can donate one, we would appreciate it. This is a wonderful unit and I thank you for your help in getting started!!!
If you have 30-40 minutes to volunteer before next Tuesday, please let me know! Mrs. Frishman and I need volunteers to help unpack our science kits for the Land and Water unit! I am also looking for a copy mom to help once a week anywhere from 20-40 minutes!
*Please encourage your child to bring a water bottle to class so he/she does not have to leave class when thirsty!
IT IS IMPORTANT FOR YOUR CHILD TO BRING SHARPENED PENCILS TO SCHOOL EACH DAY! PLEASE PROVIDE YOUR CHILD WITH A PERSONAL PENCIL SHARPENER TO KEEP IN HIS/HER BINDER!!!
We all have mail today!
We are working hard on posters in class. If your child does not want to draw his/her picture, he/she is welcome to bring in a picture. Ask your child if he/she wants to bring in a picture!
****Yesterday, your child brought home a pink piece of paper called a “Planner Scavenger Hunt.” This assignment is due on Monday, September 14th. Please go over it with your child after he/she completes it! It can always be turned in early!

3rd Grade Math: Yesterday your child brought home a Student Reference Book to keep at home for the year! Today we are bringing home our math journal. This book is an older edition that we have extra copies of. While the page numbers may not always correspond with homework perfectly, it is beneficial for your child to keep this book at home until June. Please have him/her put it in a safe spot.
3rd Grade Mental recall goals (for exiting 3rd grade):
30 addition and 30 subtraction in 2 mins, 50 multiplication and 50 division 3 mins. Check out the math website at the top of our Blog. It is great for practicing all facts!
4th Grade Math: Today’s homework is JP 2-3.
