We had a magnificent Monday! This morning we worked hard in Language Arts on our Memoirs. Ask your child what he/she is writing about in his/her memoir! Today we started some test-taking practice. We will do this for 30 minutes each day this week to prepare for the MEAP test next month. Your child does not need to do anything else to prepare! In the afternoon we spent a lot of time on our Land and Water unit. We are learning a lot about the water cycle to get our brains ready for our first experiment this week. Ask your child about the parts of the water cycle!!!

Thank you! Thanks to all of the families who supplied us with Ziploc gallon size bags! We have just enough!

Summer Packets are due on Wednesday, September 30th Please keep this at home until September 30th as we do not have the room to store it until then. Thank you!!!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

A Catch of the Week schedule came home with your child. It explained what we do with our “catch” for each week! Please keep the schedule in a special location at home.

*Please encourage your child to bring a water bottle to class so he/she does not have to leave class when thirsty!

IT IS IMPORTANT FOR YOUR CHILD TO BRING SHARPENED PENCILS TO SCHOOL EACH DAY! PLEASE PROVIDE YOUR CHILD WITH A PERSONAL PENCIL SHARPENER TO KEEP IN HIS/HER BINDER!!!

3rd Grade Mental recall goals (for exiting 3rd grade):
30 addition and 30 subtraction in 2 mins, 50 multiplication and 50 division 3 mins. Check out the math website at the top of our Blog. It is great for practicing all facts!

4th Grade Math: Tonight’s homework is JP 20 and SL 1.7. Today I also assigned a project called, “Geometry Museum.” This project is due on October 9th and your child has all of the information necessary to complete it! We are going to have our first unit test next Friday the 25th. Please help your child begin to study his/her addition and subtraction facts in preparation for the fact test that will accompany the unit test!
