We had such a fantastic day! I loved our visit to the science lab today. Today we talked about the different types of material that we have in our stream table model of land. Ask your child about the four main components of our soil! We also had time to present a few more summer projects. We are really enjoying them and will present more tomorrow!
*Please encourage your child to bring a water bottle to class so he/she does not have to leave class when thirsty!
IT IS IMPORTANT FOR YOUR CHILD TO BRING SHARPENED PENCILS TO SCHOOL EACH DAY!
PLEASE PROVIDE YOUR CHILD WITH A PERSONAL PENCIL SHARPENER TO KEEP IN HIS/HER BINDER!!!

3rd Grade Reading: 20 minutes

Language arts:
Memoirs are due Friday, October 2nd! Ask your child if he/she finished in class! If he/she did not, please help your child edit the rough draft and finish the final copy and the checklist. In the final copy packet, there should be a paragraph on each page and a picture on each page. They can also decorate the covers. Right now we are just working on complete sentences, capital letters in all the right places, and neatness! If your child needs “final copy paper,” please have him/her ask me!
Math:
3rd Grade:
Today we reviewed for our test tomorrow. I am sending the corrected review s home tonight as a study guide for students. The reviews are due tomorrow signed and corrected. Tonight’s homework also includes HL. 1.11.
Students will keep their homelink and math journals in their binders. These will travel to and from school each day in the binder. Please help your child find a great permanent location for each of these in the binder if he/she did not in class today. We will use each of these in class everyday!
3rd Grade Mental recall goals (for exiting 3rd grade):
30 addition and 30 subtraction in 2 mins, 50 multiplication and 50 division 3 mins. Check out the math website at the top of our Blog. It is great for practicing all facts!
4th Grade Math: Today we took a practice addition and subtraction fact test. Part of your homework is to get it signed by tomorrow! Tonight’s homework also includes JP 33-35 SL 2.3 If you did not get your test letter signed, do so tonight! “Geometry Museums” are due on October 9th!
Summer Packets: Due on Wednesday, September 30th.
