Today we added a reading log to our wiki page! Ask your child to share it with you tonight. Each day, students will access the wiki from home and record the book and number of minutes read. We are so excited to use this electronic log. Students can access the wiki from our blog. In the science lab today, we created an aerial drawing of our stream table with scientific labels including the following: delta, floodplain, tributary, mouth, valley, canyon and stream channel.

Goal Setting: Letters came home October 6th. They are due back on October 15th .
Language arts:
We are almost finished talking about our second story and then we will take a short quiz on it next week. After we have taken a quiz on all four stories in the theme, the results will come home to you. You can also have your child show you online if he/she remembers how to get on moodle!
Memoirs were due FRIDAY! Ask your child if he/she finished in class! If he/she did not, please help your child edit the rough draft and finish the final copy and the checklist. In the final copy packet, there should be a paragraph on each page and a picture on each page. They can also decorate the covers. Right now we are just working on complete sentences, capital letters in all the right places, and neatness! If your child needs “final copy paper,” please have him/her ask me!
Science:
Water cycle quiz tomorrow! Your child brought home a review sheet on Monday! Please initial this review and have him/her turn it in before the quiz on Friday!

Write a plan for studying your math facts at the bottom of the parent letter
Get parent letter signed and return bottom portion
Students will keep their homelink and math journals in their binders. These will travel to and from school each day in the binder. Please help your child find a great permanent location for each of these in the binder if he/she did not in class today. We will use each of these in class everyday!
3rd Grade Mental recall goals (for exiting 3rd grade):
30 addition and 30 subtraction in 2 mins, 50 multiplication and 50 division 3 mins. Check out the math website at the top of our Blog. It is great for practicing all facts!
4th Grade Math: Reviews went home yesterday and they are due tomorrow! The geo-museums due date has been extended to Tuesday the 13th. Our Unit 2 test will be on Monday the 12th. This test will include an addition and subtraction fact test as well as a multiplication fact test. Both will have 100 problems and the kids will be timed for five minutes on each one.
REMEMBER TO GET YOUR PLANNER SIGNED EVERY DAY!
